Deaf Interpreter (Sign language I)

This is an introduction course in American Sign Language (sign language). This class teaches the basics of hand position, signing space, ABC's, first 100 plus vocabulary words learned in signing. ASL I (sign language) presents the tools and knowledge necessary to respond to simple questions and have a basic conversation in sign language. Must be able to understand and sign simple sentences to move to Level II.

An additional $10 textbook fee is attached to this class.  The textbook can also be used in Sign Language II.

The purchased textbook can be picked up during normal business hours (Mondays-Thursdays; 9am-5pm, and Fridays; 8am-4pm) at the Alvarado Campus.
